To Whom It May Concern: My name is Josh Kelley. I am a Software Engineer for Newport Corporation. This is a letter describing my work experience with Doug Holt whom I had the privilege of working with this past year and in the process gained as a friend. Doug is one of the most knowledgeable Software Engineers that I have ever worked with. The tools that he has developed would benefit engineers at any level. Doug always ensures that projects are developed in the correct manner, which often meant that Doug would work through the night to ensure that quality was met and to meet project deadlines. Doug works extremely well in a team environment. He was always willing to assist his coworkers in problems that they were having whether it be design or debug issues. Often this meant that Doug would stay late to keep up with his own workload. My personal skill set, efficiency, and confidence level has greatly increased as a direct result of working with Doug. Over the last year Doug in my opinion has brought the software team here to a new level of efficiency and success. His dedication to his work and the coworkers around him is truly something that most people desire. Doug would be a valuable asset to any organization that strives for success and quality.
